Our Mission & History Since 2001, MEMEAC has worked to promote the study of the Middle East and Middle Eastern Americans.

Our Programs Academic programs focusing on the Middle East and its Diasporas at the CUNY Graduate Center and other CUNY Campuses.

Our Faculty Over 80 CUNY faculty specialize in Middle East Studies and Diaspora.

Our Students Master’s students earn an interdisciplinary MA in Middle Eastern Studies. PhD students work on the Middle East in the fields of Anthropology, Art History, Comparative Literature, French, Geography, History, Music, Political Science, Sociology, and Theatre.

Our Workshops MEMEAC organizes occasional workshops where faculty and graduate students present their research, senior scholars act as discussants. These workshops are attended by a small number of academics and graduate students keenly interested in the topic.
